Comparing fatality estimation between two input data files

Hi there,

I am trying to compare the fatality estimation of two Vida input data files. For example, I have a Vida input data file, lets call it Road Scenario 1. I have inputted the fatality estimation data into Stage 5 of the Project Setup and Access. When I view the results, I can see the fatality estimation for the ‘before’ scenario (i.e., without the SRIP being implemented). Next, instead of having a SRIP created for me, I want to select the exact changes to the Vida input file (e.g., by changing the attribute codes for each 100m segment) - let’s call this new Vida input file Road Scenario 2. Both Road Scenario 1 and Road Scenario 2 represent the same section of road, but with different road attributes. Here Road Scenario 1 represents the current state of the road, and Road Scenario 2 represents a new scenario with safety improvements. How can I compare the two scenarios so that I can estimate the fatality reduction that would be associated with changing the road environment from Road Scenario 1 to Road Scenario 2?

Kind regards, Chris.

Hi Chris. You can process Scenario 2 as a new dataset on VIDA and compare the before in Scenario 1 and the before in Scenario 2. You need to make sure you use the same calibration factors for both scenarios.

But that will only give the FSI estimates per year. How can one get FSI saved over the analysis period for the two scenarios?
