In this case that we have a pole and his is located very close to the metal barrier. Should we coding as a metal barrier if it don’t have space for deformation?
Well spotted Shanna.
If the pole is clearly within the working width for the barrier type, the barrier will not prevent a vehicle from impacting it. As such you should code the pole, rather than the barrier. It can sometimes be difficult to judge the distance between a barrier and the object behind it.
From the manual… Roadside severity – left object records the nearest object likely to be reached which could result in serious or fatal injury to road users.
Shanna:
Please check if pole is frangible.
