(Model deprecated version) Bicycle facility type - shared space

There are two types of “shared space” in the Netherlands.
Basically:

  • Urban area’s in which all road users move in a free space. Nothing is indicated
  • Residential area’s with a “woonerf”. It is indicated by a sign

Example of an small (partial) urban shared space:
It’s not clearly indicated. You see all road users moving through on space (bikes, pedestrians, scooters). The sign on the right states that it is a pedestrian area and bicyclist and mopeds are allowed.

QUESTION

Is this square near the church a “shared space”?
I think so, because road users do not have indicated places.

I think this is shared space! No hard lines for the road users, just make contact to eachother and drive safely.
